Overview

The Ducati Multistrada 1200 is an Adventure Motorcycle produced from 2010 to 2017. The 2017 model has a naturally aspirated, liquid-cooled 1,198 cm³ V-Twin four-stroke producing 150 hp (112 kW) at 9,500 rpm and 136 Nm at 7,500 rpm. It weighs 232 kg wet and 209 kg dry; the wet weight is the more relevant figure when maneuvering it at low speed.

The 825 mm seat height can make it harder for shorter riders to put both feet flat on the ground. The 20 L tank has a calculated full-tank range of about 408 km. Fully adjustable suspension at both ends, including remote rear spring-preload adjustment, lets the setup be adapted to the rider and load.

Pros and cons

Advantages

  • ABS braking

ABS works with the front and rear disc brakes to help prevent wheel lock during hard braking.

  • Adjustable suspension

Fully adjustable forks and rear suspension, with remote spring-preload adjustment, provide useful control over the setup.

  • Slipper clutch

Slipper action on overrun helps calm the rear wheel during hard downshifts.

Things to consider

  • Weight at low speed

At 232 kg wet, the bike can take more effort to push around or balance during slow maneuvers.

  • Chain final drive

The chain needs regular cleaning, lubrication, and adjustment.
