Motorcycle seat height calculator
Seat height measures the distance from the ground to the top of the seat. Compare your leg reach with recorded seat heights from published models.
Enter your height or measured inseam, then filter by class or brand. This estimates ground contact, not riding suitability. Try the motorcycle before buying.

Your height
Measured barefoot, from the floor to the crotch. If you leave it empty, we estimate it from your height.
Estimated inseam: 78.9 cm / 31.1 in
Children's minibikes and small youth motocross bikes are hidden by default. Select the class to see them.

Seat height by rider height
These are calculated limits, not manufacturer recommendations. Exact 4′11″, 5′7″, 6′2″ and 6′4″ inputs are included alongside the metric reference points.
Estimated inseam = height × 0.451, rounded to 0.1 cm. The calculation allows about 30 mm of suspension sag. Both feet flat: inseam ≥ seat height − 30 mm. Balls of both feet: a shortfall of up to 35 mm.

Questions about seat height
How is inseam estimated?
When inseam is empty, the calculator multiplies height by 0.451 and rounds to 0.1 cm. Your measured inseam is used instead when supplied.
What do the reach groups mean?
The model subtracts 30 mm from seat height for suspension sag. An inseam reaching that height is grouped as both feet flat; a shortfall of up to 35 mm is grouped as balls of both feet.
Will I definitely reach the ground?
No. Seat width, footwear, load and suspension settings affect real contact. The calculation does not measure these differences. Sit on the motorcycle before buying.
How do I measure my inseam?
Stand barefoot with your back against a wall and your feet about 20 cm apart. Hold a book or a ruler level between your legs, pressed up snugly, and mark its top edge on the wall. Measure from the floor to the mark. A second person makes it more accurate. Measure twice and use the average.
Is the estimate from my height reliable?
It is an average. Two people of the same height can have inseams that differ by several centimetres, and a few centimetres of inseam is a few tens of millimetres of seat height. If you know your inseam, enter it.
What can I do if a bike I like is slightly too tall?
Look for a version with a lower seat, have the suspension set-up checked by a specialist, or try the bike in the boots you ride in. Lowering a bike changes handling and ground clearance, so ask the manufacturer or a dealer first.
